Folding At Home (aka FAH or F@H) is a pretty nifty thing. Folding At Home allows people to use their computers for more than just surfing
the web. It allows them to help contribute to finding cures for diseases and finding out the structure of proteins. How do they contribute you may ask?
They contribute by essentially donating computing power by either using a persons main computer or using a dedicated computer like I am.
I have a dedicated Folding@Home computer set up. It is my file server which is a Dell Inspiron 537ST Slimline Tower . To make the power better
I upgraded the processor from a Pentium E5300 Dual Core to a Core 2 Duo E6700 Dual Core. One thing to take note of with Folding@Home is Temperature.
Computers can get really REALLY Hot. Here is a good example.
Folding Light Max Temp: 61*C
Folding Medium Max Temp: 72*C
Folding Full Max Temp: 81*C
Idle Temp: 31*C
Normal Load: 52*C
